Conway The Machine Is Back — And He's Locked In Like Never Before

When Conway The Machine (@whoisconway) says "2026 is mines," you believe him. You Can't Kill God With Bullets — released December 12, 2025 on Drumwork Music Group — is not just a rap album. It is a declaration of survival, a document of resurrection, and one of the most compelling bodies of work in Conway's already legendary catalog.

The Buffalo MC famously survived a 2012 shooting that left him with Bell's palsy, partially paralyzing one side of his face. Rather than silence him, it only sharpened his pen. And on this 18-track opus, Conway sounds more focused, more hungry, and more honest than he has in years.

"Lowkey the rap game almost took me out — I wasn't myself for a long time. But fuck that, I made changes and I been in my bag. I'm really back." — Conway The Machine

Album Overview: 18 Tracks of Grit, Grace, and Survival

You Can't Kill God With Bullets clocks in at just over 60 minutes and features an elite production lineup: The Alchemist, Daringer, Conductor Williams, Apollo Brown, araabMUZIK, Beat Butcha, Timbaland, and more. Guest appearances from Roc Marciano, G Herbo, Tony Yayo, Lady London, KNDRX, and Heather Victoria provide texture without ever overshadowing Conway's iron-willed presence.

The album opens with "Gun Powder" — a brief but loaded intro sampling H. Rap Brown's historic 1968 speech on power and violence. From the jump, Conway is placing himself inside a lineage of Black resistance and resilience.

Standout Tracks

The Lightning Above the Adriatic Sea

Produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, this is a cinematic boom-bap masterpiece. Conway stacks imagery of Central Booking cells against Coachella stages, blending gritty street tales with undeniable come-up energy. The bass rumbles like distant thunder. One of the best tracks he's ever recorded.

Diamonds (ft. Roc Marciano)

Conductor Williams laces a dusty, vibrating loop and Conway and Roc trade bars with cold, surgical precision. Two grimy legends at the top of their craft — this one hits different.

Hold Back Tears

Produced by Beat Butcha, this is the emotional core of the album. Over minimalist piano and sparse drums, Conway lists lost loved ones — his grandmother, his child — and openly addresses his battle with depression. It's the most vulnerable we've ever heard The Machine, and it lands like a gut punch.

Nu Devils (ft. G Herbo)

araabMUZIK and Beat Butcha produce a thumping trap-influenced banger. Conway and Herbo trade gangsta narratives with synced aggression — two street storytellers feeding off each other's energy. The sub-bass alone will rattle speakers.

Don't Even Feel Real (Dreams) (ft. Heather Victoria)

Closer. Bonjour's soulful boom-bap provides the backdrop as Heather Victoria's melodic hook wraps around Conway's inventory of unreturned favors and surreal success. A perfect album closer — reflective, grateful, and still hungry.

Why This Album Matters in 2026

In an era of algorithmic rap, trend-chasing, and disposable content, Conway The Machine represents something rare: an artist who refuses to compromise. You Can't Kill God With Bullets is built entirely on his terms — independently released through Drumwork, unbothered by radio appeal, and laser-focused on craft.

This is boom-bap for the people who still care. Heavy production. Dense bars. Raw emotion. No filler.

Conway has spoken candidly about losing himself in the industry, about mental health struggles, about the toll that survival takes. This album is his answer to all of it. Every verse feels like it cost him something. That authenticity is increasingly rare in modern hip-hop — and it's exactly why listeners from Buffalo to Buffalo to London and back keep coming back to The Machine.

The Verdict

You Can't Kill God With Bullets is Conway The Machine operating from a place of hard-won clarity. The rap game tried to swallow him whole. Depression knocked at the door. The streets never let up. And yet — here he is. 18 tracks deep, independent, unflinching, and better than ever.

This is not just a comeback album. It is proof of concept. A living testament to what happens when an artist strips away everything artificial and just raps.

Conway said 2026 is his. On the strength of this album alone, it's hard to argue.
